Lincoln Film Society

These screenings are being organised as a collaborative group formed with the Lincoln Film Society, The Women's Equality Party, Lincoln WI and The Jammy Tarts.

Lincoln Film Society is a volunteer-run society, based in the city. It's been in existence since 1953. It's a registered charity and specialises in bringing films from all round the world to the city, which would otherwise not be shown at all.

The Society is a members' only organisation, though it welcomes guests. For an annual fee, members can see 26 films each year. Each season runs from September to the following May.

The Society is based at The Venue theatre, at Bishop Grosseteste University, Lincoln, a multi-purpose space equipped with digital film technology. The Venue run their own programme of films. The Society is also building links with other city-based arts organisation to promote film culture to the widest possible audience.
