Sandford Community Cinema Sandford's much loved community arts organisation

About Us

Sandford Cinema is a small not for profit community cinema, hosted within the local village hall in the beautiful village of Sandford. It is run by a small group of volunteers as a sub group of the Sandford Community Ethos Group (SCEG) and has an audience capacity of 65. Sandford Cinema facilitates 2 seasons a year; January to May and September to December, showing a minimum of one film per month in each season.

Films vary throughout the year and community input is sought for the genre and type of films shown. In each season we host a family Sunday afternoon showing with a tuck shop where the children can bring bean bags and cushions to relax while watching the film. The cinema tries to accommodate for all ages and tastes with its film choices.

In 2015 the Cinema group were successful in our bid for funding for our own cinema equipment through the BFI Neighbourhood Cinema Team, which has assisted in keeping our costs at a minimum and these savings being passed on to our audience, keeping our ticket prices low.
