A third of all women and girls face violence in their lifetime. It’s one of the most widespread violations of human rights, and it robs women of control over their bodies and lives. This doesn’t just hold back the women it affects – it holds back their families and communities too.

In September 2015, the UN agreed a historic target on ending violence against women and girls as part of the Sustainable Development Goals. But we need to make sure this target is met.

The pre-screening talk will be presented by Actionaid’s Women’s Rights Campaign Manager Sarah Carson.
